Free and Sustainable Drinking Water in Public Spaces - Aqua World Line

Today, February 2, 2026, passengers in the Departures terminal were pleasantly surprised to discover our first Aqua World Line smart station: a sensor-activated bottle-filling dispenser, an ergonomic drinking fountain (fully accessible for people with disabilities), and most importantly—filtered, chilled, and 100% free water.

Naturally, transit travelers were the most delighted. Here are a few reactions captured by reporters:

"In the airport shops, water is more expensive than in Italy! Since we have the resources, it’s a shame not to do it—after all, we have water!"

"I think it’s great. I’ve seen this in many places abroad and I’m really glad it’s finally available here. It used to be a real struggle, especially with the prices they charge in the airport."

This premiere marks a significant step toward aligning with Western standards—where free hydration in airports is already the norm—and toward reducing single-use plastic consumption.

At Aqua World Line, we continue to install smart free-drinking-water stations in high-traffic public areas—train stations, malls, universities, and institutions. Each station is funded through responsible advertising on LED screens, contributing to a more hydrated and cleaner Romania.
